Spare Thule keys are available - click here to order
We will need to know your lock barrel number in order to supply you with the correct key. This will be N followed by three numbers (e.g. N123). You can find the lock barrel number on the key and also etched onto the end of the lock barrel on older Thule gear. Newer Thule products do not have the key number etched onto the lock (to improve security).
After adding this product to your basket, use the 'order comments' box at the checkout to make a note of the brand of key you require, along with the key number. We try to keep most keys in stock. However, if the key is not in stock, we will let you know how long it will take to order one from the manufacturer.
If you have newer lock barrels without a number etched on and contacted us with your key number when you purchased your Thule gear, we will have a record of it. If not, hopefully you made a note of it when you ordered, Thule recommend you note it down in the fitting instructions:
If you didn’t contact us with with the key number, and you don’t have a note of the key number yourself, ordering replacement keys may be a little tricky now the lock numbers are no longer printed on the barrel. You can use a Master Key to remove the lock barrels and order replacements but will only work if they are unlocked (with the exception of roof boxes), so if the lock barrels are locked, the only way to check this would be to try each key to find out which one fits. A selection of Thule dealers (including ourselves) carry a full range of keys but we would advise checking first to be sure they offer this service and book a suitable time. We can supply a full list of Thule dealers or arrange a time for you to visit us if you contact us.
