The Spikes-Spider hub fixing plate needs to be attached to fix clips on between 3 and 6 wheel bolts/nuts. This means you do not have to remove or replace the locking wheel bolt/nut. Some people choose to change the locking bolt/nut to a standard bolt/nut but this is not required as part of the fitting for the Spikes-Spider chains.
