Many of our roof boxes are long enough to carry skis and snowboards, but it's important to check the dimensions of your equipment before choosing a box.
Choosing a roof box for skis and snowboards
- Check the internal length. Measure your skis or snowboard and compare this with the roof box's internal dimensions. You can find the internal length under the Specifications tab on each roof box product page.
- Consider a larger box. Some of our largest roof boxes can accommodate up to 10 pairs of skis, depending on their length and the available internal space.
- Secure your equipment. Most roof boxes come with straps, which we recommend using to help prevent skis and snowboards from moving around during your journey.
- Consider a dedicated ski carrier. Some roof boxes have optional internal ski carriers that make loading easier and help keep your equipment securely positioned. If one is available, it will be listed as an accessory on the relevant product page.
- Protect your equipment. If you aren't using a dedicated ski carrier, we recommend placing plenty of padding beneath and around your skis. Ski jackets and trousers can work well for this.
Our recommendation: Check both the internal length and the usable width of the box, particularly if you're carrying several pairs of skis or a combination of skis and snowboards. Make sure all equipment can be secured properly before travelling.
